Yes, ties for women! We might have borrowed the fashion from the boys, but we are NOT giving it back. What was clearly his or hers, is no longer. We now have the freedom to be who we want, and to wear what we like. So why wear his, when we can have our own?
It wasn’t so long ago that women didn’t dare wear pants. Pants were strictly in the men's fashion domain. Less than a century ago, women wore corsets and heavy long skirts, and in some places, wearing pants was actually illegal for women.
We’ve come a long way. The fifties brought pants into fashion in a big way. Thanks in part to the two most glamorous style icons of the time — Katharine Hepburn and Audrey Hepburn — pants became cool and modern.
Fast-forward through the 60s, 70s, and 80s and watch all the rules break.
Now there is no turning back. Fashion is fun, playful, and expressive. Women wearing neckties!? Radical! ...not really. Just about time.
